Sheet Piling
Sheet Piling - Steel Sheet Piling installed by Leader Rig

Sheet Piling

Steel sheet piling is widely used as quick and economical method of installing cofferdams and retaining walls, both temporary and permanent. Piles are selected according to their length and section modulus for the job required.

Sheet piles can be installed using traditional methods utilising a telescopic leader rig and resonance free variable moment vibratory hammer. This is the quickest and most efficient method in most granular and cohesive soils.

Silent vibrationless piling techniques utilise pressing methods. Eco Foundations have available leader rig mounted presses which are economical for installing shorter piles, typically up to 10 m and Giken type pile presses for longer, heavier sheet pile sections and tubular piles.

If piles are temporary then they may be extracted at the end of the contract and bought back. Alternatively if the duration is short the piles may be rented for the duration of the project.

Sheet Piling is often used for permanent flood defence retaining walls in flood alleviation schemes.

Eco Foundations are able to offer a full design and installation service to include propping and anchor systems as required.
