Eco Foundations have just completed a prestigous contract at Canary Wharf in London for a new sub-station being constructed. A total of 80 CFA foundation piles of 450 mm diameter were drilled to depths of up to 20 m through Thanet Sands.
The pile cages were 12 m long installed through Fibre Reinforced Concrete. The bearing piles were designed to cater for the influence of the new Crossrail line passing under the site. Access was quite restricted working between the existing buildings as you can see from the photo but work was completed on budget and on time.
