Eco Foundations have just completed a contract for Collmart Growers to install 250 VCC piles of 400 mm diameter to a depth of 10 m for a new Onion Warehouse nr Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.
All of the piles are steel reinforced and half of them have enlarged heads to 900 mm for improved load transfer from the concrete slab.
The piles were installed in just 5 days using an RTG RG21T telescopic leader rig with 125 tons resonance free variable moment vibrator.
Once the piles were installed we are also following up installing ground beams, pile caps and holding down bolts for the building, to give the complete ground works package for the client.
The design was carried out by Eco Foundations' engineers and extensive testing is being carried out as part of the contract requirements.
