We recently completed a project in Canterbury, Kent for Cardy Construction, at the Beaney Institute right beside the famous Canterbury Cathedral. As a result silent and vibrationless sheet piling was a site requirement so Eco Foundations used one of their Giken UP150 Silent Pilers to do the job.
The 8 m long PU20 sheet piles were silently pressed through made ground and gravels, founding in weak chalk. A total of 56 linear metres of piles were installed forming a cofferdam.
The piling equipment had to be delivered to site on rigid vehicles through the narrow streets of Canterbury at times that would not interfere with daily town centre rush hour traffic.
