King Post Retaining Wall With Concrete Panels Installed in Willerby, East Yorkshire

A contract to install a king post retaining wall with concrete panels has recently been completed for Beale Homes in Willerby, East Yorkshire.

The king posts were installed by a mini crane into 600 mm diameter holes drilled through heavy chalk with a compact CFA piling rig. The small crane and rig combination was chosen due to the restricted access nature of the site.

Once the king posts were all concreted into place the mini crane lifted the concrete panels in between the webs of the H piles and the job was complete.

The total length of king post wall was 200 m retaining heights of up to 2 m. This type of wall was offered as an economical alternative to sheet piling.
